We delve into the pages of literary greats as we sponsor the Opening Event of this year’s Derby Book Festival

We are pleased to announce that we will be sponsoring the opening event to this year’s Derby Book Festival – an annual event taking place right in the heart of Derby city centre that celebrates the joy gleaned from books and literature from across the world.

2017 marks the third annual Derby Book Festival and the celebration takes place from the 9th – 17th June, bringing together a collection of events across 9 days, in order to marvel at all that is great about the written word.

We recently approached Derby Book Festival to see if we could sponsor an event as part of the festival in 2017 – and the organisers were very happy to welcome Peveril Homes on board and work in partnership with us for this year’s festival.

The specific event we will be sponsoring is the Opening Event with world-renowned author of ‘Birdsong’ and ‘Charlotte Gray’, Sebastian Faulks, at Derby Cathedral on the 9th June. We are delighted to announce that due to popular demand, the event has already sold out – over a month before it takes place!

Liz Fothergill, Chair of Derby Book Festival, has wholeheartedly welcomed the partnership with us and is very grateful for the contribution from the company – “Sponsorship is crucial in order to ensure the festival can successfully take place. We would like to extend a big thank you to Peveril Homes for their kind sponsorship and we look forward to what will hopefully be yet another successful year of literary celebrations!”.

The festival appeals to all ages through the joy of books, with a programme that brings together a collection of writers, poets, historians, politicians, illustrators, storytellers and musicians, across a range of venues to ensure that there is something for everyone.

Tickets are still on sale for a variety of other events throughout the festival. To find out more details about Derby Book Festival, please visit www.derbybookfestival.co.uk
