FIRST-TIME buyers eager to get on the property ladder or house-hunters looking for a fresh start are being urged to access millions of pounds worth of additional funding now available in Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Nottinghamshire.

Peveril Homes has been successfully awarded £8 million as part of the Government-backed Help To Buy scheme, which will be shared across its six developments throughout the East Midlands during 2016.

The scheme means that would-be purchasers only have to find a deposit of 5%.

Under the first-come, first-served offer, the Government provides a 20% equity loan towards the property’s price – meaning successful applicants just have to secure a mortgage for the remaining 75%.

The initiative has helped so many property-hunters to date that the extra money has been set aside in order for the scheme to continue to benefit people from around the region.

Angela Thomas, Head of Sales and Marketing at Peveril Homes, said: “Help To Buy is a fantastic opportunity. It is open to first-time buyers and existing homeowners alike and we want to make people aware that that they can have a modern, high-quality home for a low deposit of 5%.

“You don’t pay any interest on the Government’s equity loan and you will also own 100% of your home from the outset.

“Our on-site sales advisors will be able to discuss your options with you. It’s a really easy process but the money won’t be available forever so we are urging people to contact us now if they are interested in taking advantage of the scheme.”

In September 2015, sales manager Adam Warsop moved from his existing home in nearby Mansfield to a four bedroom detached house at Phoenix Place.

Adam, aged 27, said: “I really liked the development as it’s close to family and has great transport links to the A38 and M1.

“I’d spent quite a bit of time researching the Help To Buy scheme and I knew it would help make my mortgage payments more affordable.

“In the end it was a very simple application process and I’m very happy in my new home.”

Anyone wishing to find out more about the developments, get details of the latest plot releases and register their interest, should visit the website or call the Peveril Homes team on 01773 880550. Sales centres are open Thursday to Monday, 11am to 5pm.
