Peveril Homes has been awarded the President’s Award by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) in recognition of its health and safety record.
The awards are internationally recognised and are sought after by organisations in every sector. As the UK’s family safety charity, ROSPA aims to save lives and reduce injuries and the awards recognise commitment to continuous improvement in accident and ill health prevention at work. The President’s Award is given to those companies who have achieved nine previous gold awards.
Terry Wragg, Contracts Manager at Peveril Homes, said “We’re very proud of our record at Peveril Homes. We place the utmost importance on health and safety and this award acknowledges how seriously we take it and the procedures we put in place to prevent accidents in the workplace.
When we submit our applications each year we always hope we’ll do well, but to be consistently awarded gold is fantastic and the President’s Award is a testament to our continuous improvement and the high standards that we set for ourselves.”
Judges consider information submitted covering January to December and look at health and safety management and the processes put in place to prevent accidents. Peveril Homes has received the award across all of its developments.
Independent safety advisers visit the developments each month and award a score based on whether any accidents have taken place, management procedures set up to prevent accidents and health and safety processes. These scores are then added into the application.
Colin Wright, Construction Director at Peveril Homes, said “We take great pride in this achievement, it shows how committed we are to ensuring that health and safety standards are maintained across all of our developments.
We will continue to improve our health and safety management systems and ensure that we do everything we can to prevent accidents at work.”
