We are delighted to announce that we will be sponsoring the opening event at this year’s Derby Book Festival – an annual event taking place right in the heart of Derby city centre to celebrate the joy gleaned from the written word.
2018 marks the fourth annual Derby Book Festival, with the celebrations taking place from the 1st – 9th June. The event will bring together a collection of over 90 events across nine days as visitors marvel at all that is great about literature from across the world.
For our Director of Sales and Marketing Alison Kendall, being associated with Derby Book Festival for another year is a real honour and one which she hopes Peveril can continue in future years – “Following a successful partnership for last year’s festival, we are delighted to be confirmed as a sponsor for this year’s opening event,” said Alison.
“2018’s launch event will see Rushcliffe Conservative MP and current Father of the House, Ken Clarke, ‘In Conversation’ with ex Home Secretary and Labour politician, Alan Johnson – so it promises to be an entertaining and enlightening evening for everyone attending.” added Alison.
The event will be hosted at Derby Theatre on the 1st June and, due to overwhelming demand, has already sold out over a month before the festival gets underway.
Liz Fothergill, Chair of Derby Book Festival, has wholeheartedly welcomed the partnership with us for a second consecutive year and is very grateful for the continued support from Peveril Homes.
“Sponsorship is crucial in order to ensure that the festival can continue to take place every year,” said Liz.
“We would like to extend a big thank you to Peveril Homes for their kind sponsorship for what promises to be yet another exciting year of literary celebrations!” added Liz.
The festival appeals to all ages through the joy of books, with a programme that brings together a collection of writers, poets, historians, politicians, illustrators, storytellers and musicians across a range of venues in order to ensure that there is something for everyone.
Tickets are still on sale for a variety of other events throughout the festival. To find out more details about Derby Book Festival, please visit www.derbybookfestival.co.uk
