After sponsoring a new climbing wall for the Waingroves Summer Fair in 2017, we were delighted to renew our partnership with the event in 2018 in order to bring the popular attraction back for families to enjoy.
This year’s fair took place on Saturday 7th July at Waingroves Primary School and attracted families from across the local area to bask in the summer sunshine and take part in a range of fun activities.
The day was attended by several local sports clubs running a variety of family-orientated sessions – including Denby Cricket Club and Ripley Town Football Club. There was also the chance to have-a-go at archery, take part in dance classes, meet the team from the local fire service and visit a range of stalls selling gifts and refreshments.
Our partnership with the Waingroves Summer Fair began in 2017 after we finished the construction of our Eden development in the village. The event organisers approached us to see if we would be keen to sponsor the inclusion of a new climbing wall and after proving very popular last year, we were only too happy to renew our partnership in 2018 in order to bring the wall back.
PTA Treasurer for Waingroves School, Hayley Collett, is delighted with the continued level of support from Peveril Homes and is very grateful for the successive years of sponsorship – “Up until last year, the event was only attracting the usual school fair stalls, so we wanted to entice more people and provide the children with the chance to get active through a range of activities,”.
Hayley added, “We appreciate any help we receive – and Peveril Homes has been extremely generous in sponsoring our climbing wall for two consecutive years. Waingroves and the surrounding area is very family orientated, so it’s lovely that Peveril shares the strong community values that exist on a local level.”
Our Director of Sales and Marketing, Alison Kendall, is pleased to see the benefits brought about by the sponsorship and hopes to maintain the relationship moving forward – “Waingroves is an attractive area for families, and the Summer Fair is an integral part of the village community,”
“We are always willing to get behind important events wherever we build a new development and the Waingroves Summer Fair no exception. We’re delighted to see the amount of excitement and joy this wall brought to the children and we look forward to seeing it return next year.”
