At Peveril Homes, we believe sustainability is about more than energy efficiency. It’s about building responsibly today while looking after tomorrow — creating homes and communities that are efficient, environmentally considerate, and supportive of the people who live in and around them.

Government building regulations set important standards for all new homes, and we’re proud that every Peveril property not only meets but exceeds these requirements. Beyond the essentials, we’re also taking meaningful steps to future-proof our homes and developments for generations to come.

Reducing Our Environmental Impact

We’re committed to reducing the environmental footprint of our homes and developments through design, construction and innovation. Some of the ways we do this include:

  • Gas-free homes – Our Abbey Central development is the first Peveril site to be completely gas free, and moving forward, all new developments will be gas-free.
  • Innovative technologies – Across a number of developments, we are incorporating air-source heat pumps, solar photovoltaics, electric vehicle charging points and smart home systems to give residents greater control over energy use and reduce household energy bills at the same time. 
  • Energy-efficient design – Every home is built with modern insulation, double-glazing and construction methods that significantly reduce running costs compared to older housing. 
  • Responsible materials & waste reduction –All of our developments follow strict waste management practices, ensuring materials are responsibly sourced, and as much as possible is recycled or reused on site.
  • Enhancing biodiversity – Landscaping, planting schemes and features such as bat, bird and owl boxes and pollinator-friendly habitats are introduced to support local wildlife and create greener, healthier communities.

We also know that sustainability is about people and communities as much as it is about buildings. That’s why we aim to make a positive contribution wherever we build by:
  • Supporting local communities – Helping to fund schools, community facilities and transport links.
