Best Social Housing Honour from LABC Building Excellence Awards
We are immensely proud to have received a regional award from the LABC for our Leicestershire development.
Our development of nine homes at New Street, Measham has been named as Regional Best Social Housing Project at the prestigious LABC Building Excellence Awards.
The development, which was agreed with North West Leicestershire District Council in line with the area’s housing need provides a mix of two and three bed houses and a one bed apartment.
Site Manager, Nigel Wright explained: “I’ve taken great care in creating a welcoming community. The development is exceptional, and in-line with our first-class standard of craftsmanship we pride ourselves on.”
LABC Surveyor Chris Stanton said of the project: “The plots were finished to an exceptionally good standard, with Nigel keen to ensure there was little remaining to complete on the plots when arranging my visits. The street scene for the site was clean and tidy throughout and was also finished to an exceptionally high standard.”
Paul Blackshaw, Project Manager at Trent and Dove Housing Association commented: “The new homes’ specification was designed to include the installation of high efficiency boilers and the construction of well-insulated homes.” He continued: “An easement runs to the left of the homes, where no buildings can be developed. A large part of the area is being kept as meadow grassland, with a mix of wild grasses and flowers for aesthetic and environmental benefits.”
This regional winner is now shortlisted for the national LABC Building Excellence Awards, the results of which will be announced in January 2023.
