Building Homes and Communities
Peveril Homes are built to safeguard the economic, social, and environmental well-being of the communities in which we live. We aim to create communities for future generations within our own developments and generate a feeling of being part of a new community, fostering an all-important sense of togetherness and belonging.
Support
We take pride in supporting the areas in which we build, and pledge to create thriving communities. This includes sponsoring many local events and supporting charities.
Educate
We are passionate about working with local schools and pledge to donate funds to aid children’s education as well as boosting school projects. We often invite school classes to our developments to inform and educate children on the processes of a new-build construction. Our class tours highlight the importance of safety around construction sites and explain that they are not playgrounds. We also enjoy encouraging new generations of ‘would be’ builders.
As a community-focused home builder, Peveril Homes is committed to supporting our local schools, including donating £500 to our local Chilwell School to put towards textbooks. Alison Kendall, Director of Sales and Marketing at Peveril Homes said: “Peveril Homes is a business with ‘family’ at its heart. Supporting the young people and schools around our developments is important to ensure we build a happy, thriving environment for our purchasers to live and grow in.”
Community Spirit
Here are six small ways to create a sense of community in your neighbourhood:
- Get to know your neighbours – The best way to break the ice is to simply introduce yourself. This does not need to be a grand gesture or awkward encounter. A simple over-the-fence ‘hello’ is all that is needed to make that first contact.
- Connect online - Social media plays host to many local community groups and makes it easier to connect directly with many members of your community amidst our already busy lives. Why not connect with other Peveril homeowners online by using our increasingly popular development specific hashtags – our Sales Executives will show you how!
- Talk to other parents – use your community greenspace as an opportunity to interact with others so both you and your children can benefit from some social time, meeting new neighbours.
- Welcome new move-ins – The best way to make someone feel part of the community is to welcome them in. This can be as relaxed as a simple knock of their door or preparing a gift hamper of treats… whatever suits you.
- Participate in a community cause – Offer support to charitable organisations and services as a community effort. Not only will these broaden your community’s interests and activities, it will serve to bring a home community together for one unified cause.
- Start a club – Sharing common interests is a great way to bring people together. Starting a club is also a way to discover new ones as well.
