We’re a proud sponsor of Derby Book Festival for the third year in a row!
We are proud to announce that we will be the sponsor of a special commemorative event at this year’s Derby Book Festival – an annual occasion that brings together literature lovers of all ages and interests.
2019 marks the fifth annual Derby Book Festival, with the celebrations taking place from the 31st May – 8th June. Established in 2015, the festival celebrates all genres of prose and has a programme that features great writers, poets, historians, politicians, illustrators, storytellers and musicians.
We are proud to be sponsoring this year’s Commemorating D-Day event that will take place on Thursday 6th June – marking the 75th anniversary of the Normandy landings which saw an epic battle involving 156,000 men, 7,000 ships and 20,000 armoured vehicles.
With guest authors Giles Milton and Bali Rai in attendance, this special event will also include authentic music and dance from the time to commemorate such a poignant moment in history.
For our Director of Sales and Marketing Alison Kendall, being associated with such a momentous event is a real honour – “We have enjoyed two successful years partnering with the festival, so to be involved again this year is a genuine pleasure,”
She continues, “This event is particularly special and we hope that it gives festival-goers a chance to reflect on the largest seaborne invasion in history and the brave sacrifices that were made by the men and women of this country at a time of need.” added Alison.
The event will be hosted at Derby Theatre on the 6th June and tickets can be purchased from the festival website for just £10.
Liz Fothergill, Chair of Derby Book Festival, is thrilled to continue the partnership with Peveril Homes for a third consecutive year and is appreciative of our continued support.
“We would like to express our gratitude to Peveril Homes for their kind sponsorship for what we anticipate will be another fantastic showcase of great writers and their literary works!” says Liz.
“Our D-Day event will mark a crucial moment in history and we are over the moon that Peveril’s sponsorship has allowed us to pay homage during this, the 75th anniversary.”
