Top tips for going back to school

We have been so pleased to welcome many families to our new developments this year. Whether your child is going back to a school they know, or they’re due to start at a new school, here are some top tips from our family to yours …

They may be worried about what their new class will be like. This is perfectly normal, and our top tips should help to put their mind at ease and get them excited for the new term:

Remind them that they get to buy new stationery! Getting to buy new pens, pencils and notepads is always great
Make sure they get back into a good sleep routine so that they’re ready before they go back to school
Plan a morning schedule so they know what time they need to get up and what time to leave the house
Encourage them to prepare by getting their clothes or uniform ready the night before
If they don’t know how to find their way around, let them know that it’s ok to ask teachers for advice
Get them to talk through any worries they have so that you can reassure them

The important thing for them to remember is that there will be lots of others in their class that are feeling the same way. And although everything will seem a little different that won’t last. After a few weeks, everything will settle down and they’ll make new friends and alliances and go on to enjoy the new school year. All it takes is a little confidence!
