Prestigious RoSPA Order of Distinction in recognition of 15th consecutive Gold Award
We’ve received a prestigious RoSPA Order of Distinction in recognition of our 15th consecutive Gold Award
We’re celebrating a prestigious award-win after being crowned with the Order of Distinction from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) after achieving a 15th consecutive Gold Award from the renowned health and safety organisation.
The internationally-acclaimed annual awards recognise health and safety excellence across all industries within the UK and overseas. We were crowned with the President’s Award in 2019 following our 14th consecutive Gold Award and we’ve now gone on to secure the Order of Distinction accolade in its 15th year. The Order of Distinction recognises hard work in ensuring that staff, customers and contractors get home safely to their families at the end of every working day.
Organisations receiving a RoSPA Award are recognised as being world-leaders in health and safety practices and every year, nearly 2,00 entrants vie to achieve the highest possible accolade in what is the UK’s longest-running health and safety industry awards.
We will be presented with the award during a ceremony at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole hotel with a date and time yet to be confirmed. The night will bring a wealth of businesses together from a range of industries to celebrate their achievements.
Through the RoSPA Awards scheme, now in its 64th year, judges consider entrants’ overarching occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement. Orders of Distinction are only presented to organisations that can maintain and consistently achieve the high standards of RoSPA’s gold level over consecutive years.
Our Construction Director, Colin Wright is delighted with the news and attributes the achievement to the collective efforts of everyone within the business.
“Every year we are honoured to be collecting awards from RoSPA because it shows how consistent we are as a team in maintaining health and safety best practices, said Colin.
“Everyone at Peveril lives and breathes our internal health and safety culture – from the sales team and head office staff, to the guys working on site. We are truly humbled to not only collect our 15th consecutive Gold Award, but to also be crowned with the Order of Distinction. I would like to place on record my sincere thanks to the whole team for their continued hard work and dedication. This news has come during a difficult time for the UK economy and businesses and is a much-needed boost for everyone associated with Peveril Homes.”
Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of qualifications, awards and events, said: “The RoSPA Awards scheme is the longest-running of its kind in the UK, but it receives entries from organisations around the world, making it one of the most sought-after global accolades in health and safety.
“RoSPA wants every employee, wherever they are, to work safely in the knowledge that they will be going home unharmed and healthy at the end of every day. The RoSPA Award winners are vital to help achieve this goal, as by entering they are driving up standards and setting new benchmarks for organisations everywhere. Currently, around 7million people are directly impacted by the RoSPA Awards, but the scheme’s influence is even wider.”
