Since the beginning, we’ve taken a different path from many in our industry. Our story began with Ralph Jones, who founded the business in 1985 and continues to guide us today. From our very first developments in Borrowash and Heanor, to our current developments in West Bridgford, Rolleston-on-Dove and many other locations, we’ve been committed to delivering homes that are both beautiful and built to last. That commitment remains as strong now as it was on day one.

For our Managing Director, James Smith, who joined us as a Junior Land Buyer in 1997 and took on the role of Managing Director in 2020, this story is deeply personal.

“From the beginning, I felt I was part of something meaningful,” James says. “There’s a culture here - of trust, of autonomy - that allows people to grow alongside the business.”

Over the past four decades, that culture has helped us weather challenges and celebrate triumphs, from economic changes to a global pandemic, always with a calm resilience and a focus on the people and places that matter most.

You’ll see our approach reflected in every one of our developments. At Flagshaw Pastures in Kirk Langley, we’ve honoured traditional design and rural character. At Abbey Central in West Bridgford, we’re embracing innovation, it’s our first gas-free development and a striking example of sustainable living.

While we’re proud to have earned awards and national recognition over the years, our proudest achievements are found in the real stories, families settling into new homes, colleagues growing fulfilling careers, and communities that continue to thrive.
