Abbey Central in West Bridgford named Small Residential Development of the Year for its sustainable, energy-efficient design and strong community focus.
We’re thrilled to share that Abbey Central in West Bridgford has been honoured with the Small Residential Development of the Year award at the 2025 Residential Property Awards. This exciting recognition celebrates our commitment to innovative, sustainable, and affordable housing – made possible through collaboration with Stagfield Group and Rushcliffe Borough Council.
Councillor Neil Clarke, Leader of Rushcliffe Borough Council, said this award shows how to “think differently, be environmentally friendly and keep within our 30 % affordable housing goal.” He hopes it inspires others to build energy-efficient homes that future generations will be proud to live in. He also praised the transformation of this brownfield site into a flagship development, a reflection of all the partners’ vision and dedication.
Abbey Central highlights smart design and clean energy solutions. From the outset, Peveril Homes and Stagfield worked closely with the Council to bring their shared vision to life — prioritising sustainability, biodiversity and architectural quality. As one of the region’s largest no‑Gas developments, the homes feature Air Source Heat Pumps, Solar PV panels, and EV charging throughout. Some properties are set to reduce CO₂ emissions and energy use by as much as 80 % compared to building regulations — well above the industry standard of 19 %.
Stuart Brookes, our Director of Sales and Marketing, said:
“We’re absolutely delighted that Abbey Central has been recognised as ‘Residential Development of the Year’. This award is a testament to what can be achieved through strong collaboration, shared values, and a clear vision for the future of sustainable living. Working alongside Stagfield has been a pleasure — from day one, our joint focus has been on creating a high-quality, energy-efficient community that delivers real, lasting value for residents and the wider West Bridgford area.”
Kevin Hard, Managing Director of Stagfield, added:
“We’re incredibly proud to receive this award, which recognises the shared vision, collaboration, challenges and commitment that went into delivering Abbey Central. This isn’t just a housing development—it’s a statement about what’s possible when a knowledgeable team prioritise sustainability, community and innovation, and work in partnership together. A huge thank you to our partners at Peveril Homes, Rushcliffe Borough Council, and everyone who helped bring Abbey Central to life.”
