Adam was highly motivated to purchase a new build, he explained: “We’d been looking for a new build so that we could take advantage of the Help to Buy scheme, especially before the price caps started. We also knew that new builds come with peace of mind because everything is new and there are warranties in place.”

With this in mind, Adam and his partner opted for a spacious 4-bedroom home, The Hulland, which boasts a full-length lounge and an open plan kitchen diner complete with utility room. Available for first-time buyers only, the Help to Buy scheme is a great way of helping you to purchase a new home and is available across all of Peveril Homes’ developments.

The Government’s equity loan will provide up to 20% of the cost of your newly built home, meaning you’ll only need a 5% cash deposit and a 75% mortgage to cover the rest.

With the Help to Buy scheme you’ll still own 100% of your home, however, from spring 2021 regional price caps means the scheme will be available for homes up to £261,900 in the East Midlands and £255,600 in the West Midlands.

Adam continued, “The location is what really attracted us to Woodcroft. Some friends had moved into the estate and so we decided to have a look around. We were amazed at how different the development was from the other new build sites we’d visited.

“There is so much space between the houses and it’s in such a great area with lots of lovely walking and cycle paths. Plus, there’s a canal over the road that we can see from the house. That view is one of my favourite features of this home.”

It wasn’t simply the stunning scenery that sold Adam and his partner on their high-quality new home.

Adam said, “The kitchen has been finished to an incredible standard. The worktops are beautiful and the home has Karndean flooring fitted throughout which has allowed us to move into the home with no need for alterations, helping us to also save money.”
